BELLPORT VILLAGE TENNIS
THE FACILITY
The Tennis Center is located at the Bellport Country Club just south of South Country Road on the north side of the Golf Course. The facility is managed by Bob Costanzo who sees to it that our five Har-Tru Courts are well maintained at all times. Bob, who is a PTR professional provides tennis instruction and runs a very successful Junior Development Program. In addition, he coordinates a full schedule of events throughout the summer for the benefit of the membership, including special events, men’s and ladies’ doubles round robins, singles and doubles ladders, interclub matches as well as weekend member tournaments.

Full season memberships are available at the Village Hall for both Village Residents and Non-Residents.

Members are entitled to free court time throughout the season, to participate in all of the club events and to use the Locker Room Facilities. Certain limitations are noted below.
SEASON:
Courts Open: May through October
Full services are provided every day beween June 1st and Labor Day, and on weekends only during May and September.
Courts are open in October weather, staff and maintenance permitting.
Courts Closed: November through April
HOURS:
Daily 7 am to 8 pm
Daily Fixed Time Slots:
- 7 am to 8:30 am
- 8:30 am to 10 am
- 10 am to 11:30 am
RULES:
- Members can book court time in advance by calling 776-0859 between 7 am and 8 pm or by asking the Court Attendant to sign you up on the board. Non-members may not sign up in advance.
- Courts may be booked no more than one day in advance.
- Courts may be booked by telephone only between 7 am and 8 am.
- Singles may play up to 1 1/2 hours maximum (unless a court is free).
- Doubles may play upt to 1 1/2 hours during prime time and 2 hours during non-prime time.
- junior members may not book a court more than one hour in advance during Prime Time unless playing with an adult member.
- Court time is forfeited after 10 minutes; habitual no-shows will lose sign up privileges.
- Court time will be limited during scheduled interclub matches, round robins and tornaments.
- Court time is suspended during afternoon junior development sessions and on Tuesdays at 11 am during the month of July to accomodate Kids Camp.
TOURNAMENTS:
- Sanctioned tournaments will be held on scheduled weekends throughout the summer. Up to three courts will be used during Prime Time depending on the number of participants and at the discretion of the Tennis Director.
- Except for open tournaments, only Members will be allowed to participate.
- Participation of Non-Members will be considered for Junior Development Personnel and Court Attendants if players are needed to fill out a draw. This participation is at the discretiion of the Tennis Commission and the Tennis Director.
- Fees will be charged for tournaments and posted on the sign up sheets.
- Rules are posted at the Tennis Courts and follow USTA Guidelines.
- Appropriate tennis attire, including smooth soled sneakers, is required to play on the courts.
- Courtesy and good manners are expected of all players.
- Please dispose of all refuse in the court recepatcles.
- Smoking is prohibited on the Tennis Courts.
- No pets are permitted at the Tennis Facility.
- In the event of inclement weather, the Tennis Director or Court Attendant will determine if the courts are playable. Their decision will be final.
