Brush Pickup
Brush will only be picked up if bundled and cut into 3 foot lengths. Loose brush will not be picked up by the sanitation department.

PRIVATE LANDSCAPING
Residents who have private landscapers to maintain their property are responsible to either have the landscaper remove the debris or insure that the landscaper bundles the debris properly for pickup by the highway department. Failure to do so will result in a summons being issued. The debris cannot be disposed of at the Highway yard.

All private landscapers must have a “Landscaper’s License” (obtained at Village Hall). The fee is $100.00 and the license is good for 2 years. It is pro-rated to coincide with a Suffolk County Home Improvement License. There is an additional fee of $1.00 for each sticker given to a landscaper.

GRASS CLIPPINGS

The Village Sanitation Department will not dispose of grass clippings. If grass clippings are in garbage or mixed in with garbage, it will not be picked up. Residents are encouraged to leave grass clippings on lawns or to compost them in their own yards as this is environmentally beneficial.

Please advise private landscapers of this policy and have him leave the clippings on your lawn.

If you hire a snowplow to clear your driveway, make sure to clear the sidewalk or you will be issued a summons.
