WELCOME TO THE VILLAGE OF BELLPORT

2012 Village of Bellport calendars are on sale now. The calendar contains beautiful photos taken throughout the Village including shots of the Marina, the Golf Course and Main Street. Calendars can be purchased for $10 each at Village Hall, Bellport Jewelry and Bellport Arts & Framing.
Come and meet fellow senior residents at the Bellport Seniors Winter Meet & Greet on Wednesday, February 1 at 2 pm. Poliece officer Terrence Buckley of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Community Outreach Bureau will be the guest speaker. Coffee, tea and pastries will be served.
The AARP Driver’s Safety Class will be offered on Friday, April 20th from 9 am to 3 pm in the Bellport Community Center. Cost is $12 for AARP members, $14 for non-members. Contact Coleen at 631-286-0327 to register.
All qualified Brookhaven residents should apply for the 2011-2012 Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) program. The Suffolk County Office of Aging have begun to process applications on Wednesday, November 16th. Early Outreach Applications were mailed out on August 29th to households who received a benefit for the 2010-2011 HEAP Program. HEAP is a federally funded program that provides heating benefits to supplement a household’s annual energy cost. HEAP also provides emergency assistance for households in a heat or heat-related energy emergency, and assists with furnace repairs and/or replacements for households with inoperable heating equipment.
Applicants who wish to submit a HEAP application to the Suffolk County Office for the Aging must meet one of the following conditions:
60 or older, or;
Under 60 and receiving Social Security Disability, or;
Under 60 and receiving Supplemental Security Income Code A.

• Authorize Mayor to sign amended Country Club Concessionaire Agreement. Motion by Trustee Neumann, 2nd by Trustee Terwilliger to move issue to executive session. Vote: All in favor. APPROVED
• Hire NPV to obtain DEC permit for fixing the groin at the Marina. Motion to approve by Trustee Budny, 2nd by Trustee Terwilliger. Vote: All in favor APPROVED.
• Accept resignation of Highway Superintendent Mike Costanza. Motion to approve by Trustee Terwilliger, 2nd by Trustee Budny. Vote: All in favor except Trustee Vaughan. APPROVED.
• Approve Attached Audit of Justice Court. Motion to approve by Trustee Budny, 2nd by Trustee Terwilliger. Vote: All in favor APPROVED.
• Hire Michael Gundlach as temporary highway laborer at $10 p/hr for 3 months. Motion to approve by Trustee Vaughan, 2nd by Trustee Terwilliger. Vote: All in favor APPROVED.
8. Old Business
• Status Report of a possible revamped of Spring/Fall cleanup program.
• Ok to ice rink at park subject to insurance coverage.

10. Executive Session. Motion to enter executive session for litigation by Trustee Budny, 2nd Trustee Terwilliger. Vote: Approved.
11. Motion to exit Executive Session and reenter the regular meeting by Trustee Budny, 2nd by Trustee Neumann. Vote: All in favor APPROVED
12. Motion to Authorize Mayor to sign amended Country Club Concessionaire Agreement with changes by Attorney Eaderesto. Motion by Trustee Budny, 2nd by Trustee Neumann. Vote: All in favor except Trustee Vaughan. APPROVED.
The Senior Van is back! It will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays to take Senior Residents to appointments, shopping and errands within a 10 mile radius of the Village. Call John Stephani at 631-559-8863 to make arrangements.
